Example designs: Most sternum pieces, most ornamental pieces (hand-sized), freehand forearm pieces such as leaf or floral wraps (medium sized)
FULL DAY RATES:
Starting at $1100+tax (usually a 6-8 hour session)
Example designs: Full freehand arm floral/sleeve wraps, large ornamental pieces (back, shin, etc.), floral hip pieces.
If a design requires an additional session the price will be determined based on remainder of work to be completed, usually at an hourly rate of $200/hour.

For about three to four days before your appointment, apply a moisturizing cream (the less ingredients the better) or coconut oil. If you are allergic to coconut oil, you can use almond oil, grapeseed oil or olive oil as an alternative for skin preparation.
Get a good night’s sleep before your appointment. If you are too tired, you will be irritable during your session which can result in a lower pain tolerance and could even affect how your skin reacts during your session.
Avoid alcohol or taking any medications with analgesic effects, a minimum of 24 hours prior to getting your tattoo.
Avoid caffeine 12-24 hours prior to your appointment time, especially if getting a larger piece. If you are getting your brows done, please avoid caffeine altogether 24 hours prior to your appointment.
If you are taking any prescribed medications or have any skin allergies and/or sensitivities, blood disorder or any other conditions that I should be aware of, please speak with your doctor before booking your appointment and also inform me PRIOR to your session.
If you have any known allergies to tattoo inks that have appeared in the past, please let me know ahead of time. This applies to any colour inks as well. If you are getting your first colour tattoo, please also specify this.
Avoid applying any skin moisturizer/gel/cream/etc., especially if scented, on the area several hours before your appointment. Please stick to basic, natural moisturizers such as the almond, grapeseed, coconut oils mentioned above.
Depending on your tattoo placement and size, loose clothing post-session is usually recommended. This will prevent your clothes from rubbing against your new tattoo, which may cause irritation and possible infection. Areas at most risk for tight clothing/rubbing are:
Rib tattoos - avoid underwire or tight bras.
Shoulder/collarbone - avoid tight straps.
Wrist/ankle/hand/foot - avoid gloves, tight sleeves/pants/boots/socks that could rub directly on the tattooed area.
HAND TATTOOSIf you are getting a hand tattoo, please ensure that you have at least 3-5 days of downtime post-session for healing. Excessive handwashing in the immediate days following your session could cause infection and greatly affect ink retention.
Make sure to eat before your appointment and stay hydrated. Please bring snacks if you tend to get lightheaded easily.
Specific aftercare instructions will also be provided during your session.
NOTE: It is also important that you have no upcoming vacations that include sun/sand/water within 1-3 weeks of getting your tattoo.

We've completed your tattoo appointment, next steps are to follow proper aftercare instructions to ensure the best healing outcome:
Your Bandage:
Leave it on for the duration recommended at your session. Once removed, cleanse your tattoo gently with an unscented, hypoallergenic cleanser and rinse with lukewarm water. Do not scrub the area. Ensure that water does not hit it directly while cleansing for more than a few seconds at a time.Do not use any scented soaps or cleansers. This could cause irritation and your tattoo could become infected. Please only use products you have already tried on your skin. Do not use a product you've never used before on your new tattoo as a preventative measure to irritation and infection.
If you have been bandaged with Second Skin (or similar), remove the bandage very slowly, pulling away from your tattoo, similar to peeling off a sunburn. DO NOT RIP OFF like a wax strip or bandaid as you may remove surface ink deposits this way.
NOTE: If you have been bandaged with a medical adhesive such as Second Skin, and you notice any irritation or redness surrounding your tattooed area, please remove it as soon as possible, even if your instructions were to leave it for 1 or more days. Contact Aleks if you have questions at aleksnorthtattoo@gmail.com
Moisturizer:
Do not use products you've never applied on your skin before. Coconut oil, almond oil and jojoba oil are recommended. If you are not accustomed to applying oils to your skin, you can mix any of these with pure shea butter. Make sure that any of the above oils are PURE and not scented or have any additional ingredients. Alternatively, pure vitamin e ointment and certain unscented lotions can be used as well.
Unless otherwise instructed you can apply your aftercare product twice a day, in light layers. Do not over moisturize, it's important your tattoo has adequate time to dry. However, if it appears to be too dry, you can apply your product in light layers.
If you are an avid tattoo collector and have a preferred aftercare method or product please share this with Aleks.Ensure that your bandage remains dry.
If you notice any moisture building up, especially under the medical adhesive, remove it immediately to avoid building a bacteria-prone environment.
If you've been cleared for exercising, please ensure your tattoo is covered.
Clean clothing is usually ok for this if your bandage has already been removed.
An example would be a loose, cotton sleeve.
Do not expose it to gym equipment.
Any excessive sweating, especially after a workout, requires you cleanse your tattoo and moisturize after.Sun & Water:
After your session, it is recommended that you stay out of direct sunlight and water for approximately two weeks. This time period will depend on your skin and healing time. Do not submerge your new tattoo in ANY body of water ( lake, pool, ocean, hot tub, etc.). This can cause exposure to chemicals and bacteria and can lead to serious infection. Your most crucial healing period for this is during the first 5-7 days post tattoo session. Please ensure you allow enough healing time if booking any trips that require sand/sun/water activities.Keep your tattoo out of direct sun exposure for the first two weeks. It will burn and itch and can be prone to infection if exposed to direct sun for too long within the first 7 days of healing.
If your tattoo has been exposed to any dirt, sand, excessive dust, etc. please ensure you cleanse it as soon as possible and apply a light layer of aftercare product as a barrier.
Aftercare is always thoroughly discussed at your appointment and you can always reference this page as a reminder.
Key Takeaways:
No sun exposure for 2 weeks
No swimming or hot tubs for 2 weeks
Avoid saunas and steam rooms for 2 weeks
No scented cleansers and moisturizers until fully healed -
